He was born on December 16, 1872 in Szeged, Austria-Hungary, and studied art in, among other places, Vienna, Munich and at the renowned Académie Julian in Paris. Józsa specialised in woodcuts and linocuts, many of which appeared in national and international publications, including the renowned magazine The Studio. He received several awards for his work, including a gold medal in London and first prize in a poster competition in Munich in 1898. He mainly created portraits in oil that are characterised by their technical sophistication. Some of his works are now exhibited in the Hungarian National Gallery. Józsa died on August 20, 1929 in Budapest.
