Inscribed in the margin "Evening Spring Ginza" and "Kasamatsu Ginza". Publisher Watanabe Shōzaburō and stamp. Dated 4th month of Showa 9 (1934). Size 39.2 x 26.2 cm Although the street is busy, the viewer is placed in a quiet angle allowing him to watch the crowd from a distance, creating a sense of serenity. The small sushi stand in the foreground contrasts with the imposing neon-lit building in the background. The illuminated sign reads "Azuma odori" in red, a type of dance typically practised in summer. Judging by the thick clothing of the passers-by, the scene must have been a cold early spring evening.
