Klaus Fußmann. (1938 Velbert/Rhineland - Worked in Berlin and Gelting) Snowball and lilac Still life of flowers, composed in sections and over a large area, in which the bright colouring of the blossoms stands out against the dark background. A characteristic work by Fußmann, who has been intensively exploring the pictorial theme of floral still lifes since 1977, whereby he favours garden flowers in the tradition of Emil Nolde. After studying at the Folkwang School in Essen and the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Berlin, he was awarded the Villa Romana Prize in 1972 and exhibited at the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin. From 1974-2005 he worked as a professor in Berlin. After numerous solo exhibitions, his oeuvre was shown in comprehensive exhibitions on the occasion of his 70th and 80th birthday, including at the Schleswig-Holstein State Museum of Art and Cultural History in Gottorf Castle and the Museum Barberini in Potsdam.
