First edition of one of the most beautiful zoological works of the 18th century. Begun by Knorr in 1751, it was continued by his heirs after his death in 1761.
The work describes the major specimens in the great collections of the time. It is illustrated with a total of 91 plates engraved by Knorr, J. A. Eisenmann, A. Hoffer and others.
Volume incomplete with 24 colour plates (A, AI, AII, AIII - B, BI, BII, BIII - C, C1, C2, C3, C4 - D, DI, DII - E, E1, E2, E3, E4 - F, F1 - G): shells, butterflies, stones, sea urchins, crustaceans, etc.
