Moser OM ESTIMATE °€ 300 - € 600 STARTING PRICE € 300 Koloman Moser was an important Austrian artist and designer, one of the most important representatives of Art Nouveau and co-founder of the Vienna Secession and the Wiener Werkstätte. Born on March 30, 1868 in Vienna, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and at the School of Applied Arts in Vienna. Moser was a versatile artist who worked in the fields of painting, graphics, furniture and product design, and arts and crafts. He strived for the unification of art and crafts and demanded a complete integration of all artistic areas of everyday life. As a co-founder of the Vienna Secession in 1897, he was one of the most progressive artists of his time, as was the later founded Wiener Werkstätte, of which he was artistic director. Moser's designs are characterised by clear geometric lines, sophisticated patterns and a pronounced stylistic rigor, which significantly influenced Art Nouveau. In addition to his work for the Wiener Werkstätte, he also designed glasses, fabrics, furniture and jewellery that can be found in numerous museums and collections worldwide. His influence on the Austrian and international art and design master is still significant today, even though he died in 1918 at the age of 50.
