This rare ancient statue is strikingly modern, with its minimalist, uncluttered sculpture reminiscent of Cycladic or Anatolian idols. This perfectly mastered synthetic representation of the human figure is part of a small body of Koulango statuary. The figure is represented kneeling, the trunk elongated with two small stylised arms, the triangular head with a smooth face.
