It contains a frontispiece by Bellanger and 120 line-engraved plates based on the drawings of the architect Jean-Charles Krafft by Boulay, Van Maelle and others, accompanied by an explanatory text.
This collection, devoted to the civil buildings of the Île-de-France region, began appearing in installments in 1804. It contains "plans, sections and elevations of châteaux, country houses and rural dwellings, English gardens, temples, thatched cottages, kiosks, bridges, etc., with interior decorations and details of garden embellishments".
