A reference work on the ascents of the great Himalayan peaks during the period 1940-1955. Marcel Kurz (Neuchâtel 1887 - 1957) was a Swiss mountaineer. He was also a keen explorer of distant mountain ranges; in 1921, he climbed Mount Olympus and drew up a detailed map of the massif. In 1926-1927, he climbed Mount Cook and Mount Tasman; in 1930, during an expedition to Kangchenjunga, he climbed Jongsong Peak (7,459 m.). He returned to the Himalayas on several occasions and became an erudite chronicler of this massif. A fine copy in perfect condition.
