Lot no. 106
L. BAUDU - 19th century
Pair of portraits representing Léon Georges du Pré de Saint-Maur (1837-1902) and his cousin and wife, Laurence Stéphanie Patas d'Illiers (1851-1918).
Pastels. Signed and dated 1863.
62 x 49 cm on view.
Wear, small accidents including to the frames.
Note. The house of Patas d'Illiers is a very old dynasty from Orléans that is still in existence today, and in particular the owner of Château de La Fontaine in Olivet, which has remained in the family since the 18th century. The portraits presented here most likely come from the Château de Bon-Hôtel in Ligny-le-Ribault in the Loiret, built between 1875 and 1882 at the request of Léon Georges du Pré de Saint-Maur to the architects Clément and Louis Parent.
