In-4, sandy morocco, boards decorated with a geometrical composition of mosaic red and white calf and multiple gilt fillets with rounded and partly intertwined lines, smooth spine, red suede lining and endpapers edged in white calf, gilt edges on witnesses, cover and spine preserved, matching signed folder and slipcase. Edition illustrated with 74 compositions by Jules Chadel, wood-engraved with the assistance of Germaine de Coster, and hand-pulled in Paris using Japanese methods by Yoshijiro Urushibara. Edition of 121 copies, this one for André Morillot. At the end of the volume is the menu for the Société's dinner on 31 January 1928, including a 3-page facsimile of La Fontaine, and the list of drawings and suites sold in lots. It is enriched by 8 signed original drawings illustrating the fable "Les deux aventuriers et le talisman". A very fine copy in an original binding by Antoinette Cerutti. Spine a little browned, the spine of the folder is scratched.
