P. Ginain). First edition of this beautiful work with a frontispiece and 105 plates of Norman costumes in period colours, drawn by Lanté and engraved by Gatine. The costumed characters are portrayed in their everyday surroundings, including beaches, old towns and the countryside. The text is by Pierre de la Mésangère, director of the Journal des Dames et des modes. This beautiful suite is rare, complete with text and frontispiece. It is the first edition of the complete collection, according to Colas. A fine copy in a superb signed antique binding. (Colas, 1770)
