In 1878, the Société de la Bière Gallia presented its product at the Universal Exhibition. In 1890, the Gallia brewery was taken over by the Alsatian Jean-Jacques Wohlhüter, who founded the La Nouvelle Gallia brewery. Around 1960, it merged with Union des Brasseries Parisiennes, a subsidiary of Brasseries et Glacières d'Indochine, and production of Gallia beer was discontinued in 1968 (source: Wikipedia).
