Third and enlarged edition of this work by La Roque (1597-1686), the most learned and complete of its kind, undertaken at the request of the Duc de Montausier. This copy contains only the Treatises on the Coat of Arms, Names and Nicknames and the Ban & Arrière-Ban (without the Treatise on Nobility), in accordance with the Notice to the Public printed on the verso of the title "so as not to burden those who are already supplied with the Treatise on Nobility". Very large armorial bookplate on the flyleaf (Le Filleul des Guerrots) and wet stamp of the library of the Château des Guerrots.
