PROUST (Marcel). À l'Ombre des jeunes filles en fleurs. Paris, NRF, 1946. 2 volumes in-4, burgundy morocco, smooth spine, gilt head, cover and spine, slipcase (period binding). Illustrated with 25 original etchings by Jean-Émile Laboureur in the first volume and 25 original etchings by Jacques Boullaire in the second. Edition of 502 numbered copies, this one of 440 on Lana vellum, no. 171. The cover bears the date 1948. This was the last illustrated book by Laboureur, who died after completing the first volume. The second volume was then entrusted to Boullaire, who "brought his personal style and talent to bear on the arrangements already made and the typographical style of the work" (publisher's note).
