Rare first edition of this poem on the game of billiards, by a clerk of the imperial court of Bordeaux. It contains an introduction, an ode, an engraved title-frontispiece and an etching, both engraved by the author's son Maxime Lalanne. A fine copy, with a pencil letter from the engraver (famous under the Empire) to [Auguste] Vitu, historian and president of the Société des Gens de Lettres. - Handwritten bookplate of André Barrier, President of the Paris Court of Appeal, and printed by Serge Barrier.
