LAMARTINE (Alphonse de)(1790-1869). Three autograph letters. L.A.S. "A de Lamartine" to Emile Olivier. [25 June 1861]. 1 page in-8: "Here [...] is what you kindly asked me for Liszt and his friends from Weymar. If you can find a useful place for them in Paris, don't forget it. I don't want to let those who have faith in our pavilion perish". L.A.S. "Lamartine", probably to his son, Léon de Pierreclau. Monceau, 2 November 1833. 1 page in-4, traces of sunstain, central fold almost completely open, small paper loss. He is distressed by the news of his health. "If things go on like this, you will have to think about going to Aix to finish law school and breathe in the south [...] don't tire yourself out with work in the meantime, keep up the milk and keep warm." He encloses a note for her to pass on to her mother, who had written to thank him for a previous sum. "The thanks are in your happiness and in your progress". L.A. to Emile Olivier. [5 June 1861]. 1 page in-8. He expresses the pleasure Mme de Lamartine will have in receiving Mme Olivier "in the gentlest of arts and in the roughest of professions, that of charming or governing men".
