In-4, red half-maroquin with corners, smooth spine decorated, untrimmed (Period binding). First edition and first print run of this rare suite of 100 plates of traditional women's costumes drawn by Louis-Marie Lanté - with the exception of a few by Horace Vernet - and engraved by Georges-Jacques Gatine. They are preceded by an explanatory text by Pierre de La Mésangère, the editor of the Journal des dames et des modes. Proofs enhanced with brilliant period colours.
