The author notes and translates imaginary or slang expressions relating to love used by naturalist authors, in particular Maupassant, Zola and Huysmans. Title vignette, 18 full-page figures in the form of an alphabet and numerous initials based on drawings by Paul Lisson. One of the rare copies on Japon, unjustified edition. - Small loss to spine, otherwise a good copy. Gay, II, 326, does not mention Japon, nor Vicaire. Absent from Dutel.
