LARGE DAUNIAN POTTERY FUNNEL KRATER. Ca. 550 - 450 BC. A pottery funnel krater with a globular body rising to a wide funnel mouth. The shoulder is set with two upturned loop handles alternating with flat rectangular grips. The exterior is painted in dark brown on a light ground with horizontal bands, a frieze of linked curvilinear tendrils and leaf sprays on the shoulder, and further narrow bands around the lower body, with lateral panels and the handles also ornamented.
