LARGE EGYPTIAN FAIENCE THOTH AMULET Late Period to Ptolemaic Period, Ca. 664 - 30 BC. A faience amulet in the form of the god Thoth, depicted standing with arms held closely to the sides and wearing a short kilt. The head is of an ibis with a long, downward-curving beak and a tripartite wig. The figure stands on an integral rectangular base, with the back pillar extending upwards behind the head and terminating in a suspension loop.
