LARGE GREEK HIGH KARAT GOLD CONICAL PYXIS LID WITH GRANULATION Ca. 700 - 500 BC. A conical lid formed from a gold sheet, densely covered in applied granulation. A narrow flange surrounds the base, edged with a beaded wire. At the summit rises a delicate openwork finial composed of filigree scrolls and applied granules, topped by a small hemispherical knob.
