LARGE HELLENISTIC GOLD ARCHITECTURAL RING WITH AMETHYST CABOCHON AND A SMALL GARNET.
Ca. 200 - 100 BC.
A gold architectural ring with a high stepped hexagonal bezel set with a large amethyst cabochon. The solid navicella-shaped hoop is centred beneath with a small oval garnet cabochon and rises to paired architectural uprights linked to the bezel by hinged elements secured with transverse pegs.
