LARGE INDUS VALLEY NAL STYLE BOWL WITH FISH.
Ca. AD 1000 - 1300
A large pottery bowl with a broad sloping shoulder above a tapering lower body and a small circular mouth at the top. The upper section is decorated with a broad frieze of elongated fish, each with a chevron-patterned body framed by concentric bands and roundels, interspersed with horizontal panels of interlaced geometric motifs.

Provenance: From the collection of a London gentleman; formerly acquired in early 2000s in Japan; previously in 1970s Japanese collection.
