LARGE INDUS VALLEY TERRACOTTA GODDESS FIGURINE - TL TESTED. Ca. 3000 - 2500 BC. A terracotta female figure with a broad planar head with a prominent brow, triangular nose, large eyes with incised pupils, and ears with circular earrings. A beaded collar of punched dots encircles the neck above rounded shoulders, with the forearms brought forward and the hands set beneath the breasts. The lower body forms a tall cylindrical skirt that flares towards the base. This piece has been precisely dated using a thermoluminescence analysis carried out by Ralf Kotalla. The report will accompany the lot.
