LARGE LIDENNA WITH PUTTI, ITALY, 19th CENTURY
Gilded, moulded and carved wood. The inverted backrest features on one side a foliate lictor scroll held by a draped putti; on the other side, an armrest with a wide cuff and a support formed by a putti, also draped, kneeling and leaning against a baluster.
The rounded belt at the front is carved with a frieze of ribboned forget-me-nots.
The fluted Doric column feet are adorned with a frieze of water leaves.
