[Tenor - Quinta pars]. 6 parts in 2 oblong volumes in-4, supple vellum with small overlaps, gilt fillet, gilt laurel medallion in the centre, smooth spine decorated, gilt edges (Binding of the period). A very rare and precious musical collection, bringing together a number of early French poems with notated music by the Walloon composer Roland de Lassus (1532-1594). The first volume contains the three parts of the Tenor, and the second, those of the Quinta pars. This is a very fine edition. It is decorated with framed titles, lettering and woodcuts of great elegance. It was missing from the Fétis collection, which did not own any of Lassus's collections of French chansons. A superb copy, of great purity, in its first gilt vellum binding, with very wide margins and remarkably well preserved. Handwritten bookplates: Loyson on one endpaper and De Collan on the titles.
