LATE HELLENISTIC GRANULATED GOLD SPHERICAL CAGE PENDANT. Ca. 200 - 100 BC. A gold pendant in the form of a hollow, spherical cage constructed from delicate openwork filigree. Rows of interconnected, granulated loops form a lattice-like pattern across the surface. The top is fitted with a cylindrical suspension loop, while the lower section tapers to a rounded nipple-like finial.
