LATE ROMAN / EARLY MEDIEVAL GOLD ORNAMENTS.

A collection of three gold ornaments, including, from left to right: a rectangular plaque with bifurcated lower edge, the front set with cells filled with red inlays, the upper edge with a pair of applied round studs; a double-sided bird-shaped pendant with beaded edging, the head with a circular eye and the body centred by a circular collet retaining a turquoise inlay on one side, with a small perforation for suspension; and a pendant formed as a hollow biconvex disc with a short triple-ribbed suspension loop.
Size: 15-21mm x 10-15mm; Weight: 6.5g.
Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in Belgium; formerly in a German private collection before 2000.
