LATE ROMAN LAMP STAND WITH LAMP Ca. AD 400 - 600. A cast bronze lamp attached to a bronze tripod stand, composed of two parts. The lamp features an elegant handle made of two tendrils that curl upwards and meet at a floral motif over the body of the vessel. The tripod has a rounded disc beneath the lamp to catch any dripping oil. It stands on a rounded base with three short, paw-like legs extending from its sides. Size: 370mm x 145mm; Weight: 1.17kg. Provenance: Private UK collection; previously acquired on the Holland art market in the 1990s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
