LATE ROMAN/BYZANTINE BRONZE FOOT-SHAPED BREAD STAMP.
Ca. AD 300 - 800.
A very rare bronze bread stamp in the form of a stylised foot, with a curved outline tapering to a point. The upper surface bears a raised inscription in Greek, reading "AXIΛE," meaning Achilles. The reverse features a looped handle, cast integrally.
