Le ballet, mechanical opera automaton in display case, circa 1900, contains five ballerinas and five articulated musicians in carved and painted wood, two-storey stage, small plaque on front signed R. Ricottier, manual drive by side crank (one way for the orchestra, 1 way for the dancers), 82 x 60 x 33 cm. Restoration / overhaul recommended 3 ballerinas no longer move, or no longer move very well. Only the saxophonist is immobile in the scene, the other musicians are automated. The wheel and belt drive system is later and only moderately restored. A more thorough overhaul is required.
