First edition of the first of the author's three collections. Louis Le Cardonnel had long been a friend of Verlaine and the Symbolists. His conversion, his interior life and his long wandering in poverty inspired him to write deep and sensitive poems that would justify more fame than the one he enjoys among the happy few.
