Hunting rest, France, circa 1750.
Folded fan, the skin sheet lined with paper, painted with gouache of a female hunter resting, surrounded by her retinue. Beautiful border of feathers enhanced with gold.
On the reverse, a sketch of peasants and a figure walking.
The ivory (elephantidae spp.) frame is pierced, carved, engraved and painted with a couple in a central cartel surrounded by flowers and medallions.
