Lot no. 156
Leandro LEGA (1924-2005)
An earthenware bottle-shaped vase with a straight neck and floral decoration on a crystallised beige background.
Signed and dated 83 on the reverse.
H. 35 cm
Note: Following the Second World War, Lega's constant quest for colour, technique and shape led him to develop his use of clay, firing it and experimenting with glazes, enabling him to make majolica using the colombin technique. Drawing his inspiration from ancient ceramics, particularly Japanese and Korean, he constantly renewed his aesthetic research and inspiration throughout his artistic career.
