LEBRETON (Théodore). Hours of rest for a workman. Second edition. Rouen, Le Grand, 1838. In-12 black half calf, false ribbed spine gilt, author and title gilt (period binding). Théodore Eloi Lebreton (1803-1883), poet and biographer from Rouen, member of several learned societies, employed at the Rouen Library (in charge of the Leber Library). In 1848, he was appointed representative for Seine-Inférieure and sat on the Constituent Assembly. For the first few years of his life, he worked in an Indian factory. He is the author of several collections of poems and a large number of detached verse pieces written for various occasions. This 2nd edition has been enlarged (compared with the original of 1837) by a second part on the subject of the Workshop. Portrait in frontispiece. Light spotting in places else a very good copy.
