The Loire river channel at Saint-Nazaire, panel, signed lower right 26,5 x 34,5 CM - 10,4 x 13,6 IN. Léon Zeytline left Russia in 1917. He was renowned for his scenes of Parisian life and his seascapes, capturing the city and its ports with precision and vivacity. Fascinated by the progress of the industrial revolution, he devoted many of his paintings to rail and river transport. His work is characterised by vibrant, deep colours in a post-impressionist style.
