Léonard MOREL LADEUIL (1820-1888). Bronze stoup representing Christ in the garden of Gethsemani. Bronze with black patina. Signed at the bottom. 19th century. 34 x 15 cm. Morel-Ladeuil was a silversmith, chiseller and sculptor who exhibited at the Paris, Vienna and Philadelphia salons, where he was awarded a gold medal. His works were purchased for 75,000 francs and 150,000 francs, considerable sums for the time (acquired by Queen Victoria for Windsor Castle).
