Morel-Ladeuil was a silversmith, chiseller and sculptor who exhibited at the Paris, Vienna and Philadelphia salons, where he was awarded a gold medal. His works were purchased for 75,000 francs and 150,000 francs, considerable sums for the time (acquired by Queen Victoria for Windsor Castle).
