Léonard Tsuguharu FOUJITA (after an original carton by) & Jules LELEU (1883 - 1961)
Coffee table, model created circa 1930 known as the "Games Table" or "Smoker's Table", in mahogany veneer with a square top decorated in trompe-l'œil with small everyday objects in stained wood marquetry of different species and ivory and mother-of-pearl inlays on a blond mahogany marquetry background. Corner base with curved legs finished with small ivory hooves.
Signed Foujita in the marquetry.

A variant was presented at the Palais des Arts in Dinard during the "Foujita, le Maître japonais de Montparnasse" exhibition from 27 June to 25 September 2004, and another variant at the Musée Maillol in Paris during the "Foujita, peindre les années folles" exhibition from 7 March to 15 July 2018.
