He was also active for important commissions at the French Court and in particular for the Count d'Artois (see, Les ébénistes du XVIIIème siècle français, Paris, 1963, p. 340) to whom he supplied finely carved beds and chairs, in the Louis XV style and later in the neoclassical style of Louis XVI, a style in which he would achieve his best results. Among the best known works is a walnut seat with upholstery by the Gobelins manufactures from around 1765, made for the count's flat, now in the Louvre (P. Kjellberg, Le Mobilier Français du XVIIIème Siècle, Paris, 2002, ad vocem).
