In-8 (20 x 12.2 cm), shagreened basane, smooth spine decorated in the boxes with gilt motifs (lyres, trophies and flame), green morocco title page (Binding of the period).
First collective edition of this collection of verse pieces by poets of the time, celebrating two happy events: the marriage of Emperor Napoleon I and the birth of the King of Rome.
Prize book awarded on 26 August 1819 to the young student Hippolyte Pottier, then in his 1st year of humanities at the Collège de Soissons, in recognition of the excellence of his Latin verse.
Binding a little rubbed, corners dulled, rare angular creases and pale brown spots. A pleasant copy nonetheless.
