Nachdruck 1915... A very rare and important map of Lebanon published by the cartographic service of the German Reich General Staff.
This is a reprint of the first scientific map of Lebanon, published in 1862 by Charles Gélis, a French staff captain, augmented by revisions in 1913 and 1915 which included the railways. Gélis's map is one of the most important in the country's history, as it was used to define the "Greater Lebanon" proclaimed in Beirut on 1 September 1920.
