Liber amicorum - Bavaria Family register of Johann Friedrich Fuesslein from Königsberg in Franconia with ca. 130 entries, some of them of important personalities, 2 drawings and 5 portrait silhouettes. Mostly Erlangen, c. 1787-1798. landscape 8°. Red-brown coloured pgt. d. Zt. with three. Gilt edges, gilt embossed vegetal cover borders and title "Stammbuch JFF" in cardboard slipcase (rubbed, scratched, bumped, back cover stained, small losses in cover). Fuesslein was probably born around 1768-1770 in Königsberg in Franconia, enrolled as a law student at the University of Erlangen in 1786 and was later a baronial Rüdtischer Amtmann in Heilbronn as well as the author of "Kurze Betrachtung über die Lehnserbfolge der Seitenverwandten des letzten Besitzers, welche mit ihm vom ersten Erwerber nicht abstammen, sondern nur von gleichem Namen, Stamm, Schild und Helm sind" (Erlangen, 1791). - Contains entries from Erlangen (94), Eberstadt (8) and Königsberg (14) as well as one each from Kitzingen, Altenschönbach, Rügland, Nuremberg, Neuenstadt, Bödigheim and Neuhaus, including: Gottlieb Adam Johann Edler von Schallern (1766-1827, physician), Johann Heinrich Liebeskind (1768-1847, lawyer, author), Julius Hieronymus Zollikofer (1766-1829, Pres. d. d. Verwaltungskammer Kanton Säntis). Monogram stamp, some leaves and back flyleaf missing, one leaf with cut-out in painted border, some light brownstaining, somewhat soiled and fingerstained throughout, some late biogr. annotations in pencil. Contemp. red-brown coloured vellum with gilt edges, gilt embossed vegetal cover borders and title to spine 'Stammbuch JFF' in cardboard slipcase (rubbed, scratched, bumped, back cover stained, small losses in cover). - Fuesslein was probably born around 1768-1770 in Königsberg in Franconia, enrolled as a law student at the University of Erlangen in 1786 and was later a baronial Bailiff in Heilbronn as well as the author of the above mentioned work. - Contains entries from Erlangen (94), Eberstadt (8), Königsberg (14) a.o., including: as listed above. - In addition printout of a compilation of biographical data on the registrants. - Inner hinges cracking, front endpaper with mod. monogram stamp, some leaves and back flyleaf missing, one leaf with cut-out in painted border, some slight brownstaining, somewhat soiled and fingerstained throughout, some later biogr. annotations in pencil, otherwise overall well preserved. This lot is taxed.
