READING LIGHT FROM THE EMPEROR'S CABINET
Covered with green morocco decorated with an eagle and four crowned N's in gold, bordered by a frieze. Spine with crown and four laces in unbleached cloth.

Used A.B.E. Overdecorated at the end of the 19th century.
Biography :
Georgine de Chastellux married Count Charles Huchet de la Bédoyère, colonel of the 112th Line, in 1813. Thanks to the Chastellux family's friendship with King Louis XVIII, La Bédoyère was appointed Maréchal de Camp under the Restoration, but he rallied to the Emperor during the Hundred Days. Sentenced to death, he was shot on the Plaine de Grenelle, thus becoming, along with Ney, a martyr of the "White Terror".
