Didier Imbert hat die Autorenschaft Gustav Loiseaus im April 2015 auf Grundlage von Fotoaufnahmen bestätig. In seinen jungen Jahren vom Stil seines Freundes Paul Gauguin beeinflusst, zählt Gustave Loiseau zur zweiten Generation der Impressionisten. 1901 richtet ihm der Galerist Durand-Ruel, der ihn bereits 1897 unter Vertrag genommen hatte, eine große Einzelausstellung aus. Mit dem einzigen Ziel, die Natur so ehrlich wie möglich wiederzugeben, entwickelt er einen eigenen impressionistischen Malstil, der durch einen lebhaften, dynamischen Farbauftrag gekennzeichnet ist. In his youth Gustave Loiseau, who was influenced by the style of his friend Paul Gauguin, was counted among the second generation of impressionists. In 1901 the gallery owner Durand-Ruel, who had already signed him on in 1897, organised a great indivdual exhibition for him. His only objective is to represent nature as honest as possible and therefore he develops his own impressionistic style of painting which is characterised by a lively and dynamic application of colour.
