LOT COMPRISING TWO THREE-PIECE BELT SETS WITH SILVER AND BRASS INLAYS - former Kofler-Truniger collection Suisse romande/ Eastern France, Merovingian, 7th century AD. Metal with silver and brass inlays and partly with round bronze appliqués. Decoration in the form of intricately intertwined braided bands. L 36.5 cm, W 11.3 cm and L 35.5 cm, W 11.4 cm. Partially restored and glued. Heavily corroded. Inlays partially incomplete. Bronze applications partially incomplete and cracked. Provenance: - Collection Ernst and Marthe Kofler-Truniger (1918–1999 & 1918–1999), Lucerne before 1964 (inv. no. K8060 & K8060B). - Swiss private collection, Lucerne, acquired from the above in ca. 1974. - By inheritance in the same Swiss family collection, Lucerne.
