Accidents, missing pieces
"The Georges Dreyfus earthenware factory in Moret-sur-Loing opened in 1890. Georges Dreyfus demonstrated a spirit of creativity, producing original pieces such as wall-mounted bouquetières and trompe l'œil cake dishes, as well as water jugs in barbotine depicting ducks, cats, roosters, etc. The economic crisis of the 1930s hit the Moret-sur-Loing earthenware factory hard, as much of its production was destined for export to America, forcing it to close its doors in 1936".
