Fort in-8, midnight blue jansenist morocco, blue moiré satin lining and endpapers, gilt edges on witnesses, morocco spine flaps decorated with a turquoise morocco listel and 5 gilt fillets, cover and spine (Charles Lanoë). Illustrated with a frontispiece and 21 compositions in the text, as well as numerous vignettes, lettrines and culs-de-lampe by Henry Cheffer. One of the 25 first copies on Japon nacré (No. II), containing a colour suite, a black suite and an original signed watercolour. A precious copy enriched with 15 leaves containing more than 40 compositions in black ink used for the vignettes and culs-de-lampe, of which 4 are on tracing paper mounted on 2 leaves and 7 are watercoloured.
