BATCH OF SERVICE ITEMS IN POLYCHROME PORCELAIN, VINOVO MANUFACTORY, GIOANETTI PERIOD, CIRCA 1795-1800 comprising a teapot, a coffee pot, a sugar bowl and a cup and saucer, with variegated decoration in neoclassical style and Savoy coat of arms decoration; little wear and tear, the lid of the teapot with loss on the inside, the knob of the lid of the coffee pot restored Trademarks, signatures and initials of painters Various measurements FOUR ARMORIAL VINOVO PORCELAIN ELEMENTS, CIRCA 1795-1800; SLIGHTLY WORN, TEA POTS COVER WITH INSIDE LOSS, COFFEE POTS COVER WITH HANDLE RESTORED (4) These four porcelains, of two different decorations, are unified by the use of the simplified Savoy coat of arms with the crowned eagle and the cross on a red Savoy field: these examples should also be linked to the Court commissions documented between 1779 and 1789 (L. Melegati, op. cit, Milan, 2000, card no. 208, pp. 218-219) and which include, for example, examples of crockery decorated with the effigy of the crowned Sovereign (d'Agliano, op. cit. 2015, card no. 163 p. 198, also for previous bibliography). Intended for Court use, these ceramics are of remarkable quality, and indeed some of the signatures of the factory's best craftsmen appear here, including Lomello, and among the painters, Carasso. The lot was published in 2014 by Mana (L. Mana in AA. VV., Giardini d'autore, exhibition catalogue, Chieri, 2014, p. 74 n. 2) and again in d'Agliano in 2015 (op. cit, Turin, 2015, card 229, p. 225).
