Louis-Ferdinand CÉLINE MANUSCRIT autograph, and double on carbon paper with autograph ADDITIONS and CORRECTIONS for D'un château l'autre, [circa 1956] 8 pages in-4 on yellow paper, and 197 pages in-4 D'un château l'autre was published in 1957, it is the account of the stay in Sigmaringen, Germany, where many refugees followed Pétain and his government in 1944-1945. Autograph fragment of an early version written in blue biros on yellow paper (stain on 1st page), paginated 264 and 707 to 714, with significant variations from the final version. Page 264 (which corresponds to the beginning of p. 59 in the Pléiade edition) refers to the "comings and goings of the tugs" on the Seine, the Ile des Cygnes... Pages 707-714 (Pléiade 167-169) tell of the evacuation of the Sigmaringen station refreshment bar by the SA, the death of a soldier and the intervention of Pierre Laval who prevents the carnage. Important duplicate set of the manuscript, with numerous autograph corrections and additions in blue biros. It is paginated 888-894, 912-955, 962-973, 978-1001, 1079-1089, 1151-1155, 1165-1218 and 1319-1351. The text corresponds (with a few variations) to the printed version of the second half of the novel (pp. 187 to 289 in the Pléiade edition), with gaps, from the arrival of the refugees from Strasbourg at Sigmaringen to the journey to Hohenlychen.
