Louis-Marie LANTE (Paris, 1789 - 1871) Four studies of Restoration period costumes Suite of four watercolours in gouache over pen and brown ink 20 x 13 cm Our suite of watercolours is a precious example of the work of Louis-Marie Lanté, the most important fashion designer of the Restoration period, working for the famous Journal des Dames et des Modes, for which his watercolours were used by the periodical's engravers.
